 Only one angle, Mr. Al: boxoffice. Nobody pays to see authentic 19th Century thought patterns unless they're not boring.

Did you see the John Adams series on the history channel? Authentic 18th Century thought patterns without being tedious. It probably helped that the series was chopped up into bite-sized pieces.

Anyone who stirs up some give and take is always welcome to the board.
