What amazes me as I have done more and more genealogy, especially on my family in Mississippi during and after the war, is how right on this movie is...the scene where Ashley comes home never fails to move me, as I recall how one of my ancestors walked home from North Carolina after the surrender. My gg-grandfather was financially ruined, two of his sons died in Yankee prison camps and another at Peachtree Creek....oh yeah, it's more than a "Lost Cause" rehash
