It is quite amazing that most of the outstanding generals were and are those who are a touch unusual.

One of the things you learn at acadamies is that you never, ever divide your forces. But Lee did that many times and was mostly successful. Until he met an equally successful general that believed in the hammer theory. All outside the rule book.
