According to several of J.T.'s grandsons, an old man once told their father (James R. Cearnal) his father survived the war and returned to Texas where he lived around Sherman. I have never found any information which confirms this. There is also some tie to a James Ventioner who wound up in Texas after the war. The Ventioners lived in Dade Co. at one time. Would appreciate any ideas you may have..... Amanda
