A bill that would have expanded the boundaries of the Gettysburg National Military Park to include the Gettysburg Railroad Station on Gettysburg’s Lincoln Square and a 45-acre tract south of the battlefield, along Plum Run has died in the Senate. The package, deemed "stuffed full of costly programs and wasteful spending," was passed by the House of Representatives earlier this year. Rep. Todd Platts had included the bill to expand the Gettysburg National Military Park boundries. He stated he plans to re-introduce this part of the bill when Congress starts again in 2011.
