I'm thinking a dramatic movie that compares and contrasts the presidencies of Lincoln and Jefferson Davis would be interesting. It is surprising the similarities in their lives at the very same time they had stark differences. The Civil War would then be more of a backdrop, rather than the being right up front. Both of their wives are compelling characters too. There could be one war scene...the burning of Richmond after Davis and his government flees. Lincoln then toured the city while it was still dangerous. By the way, don't forget Robert Redford's "The Conspiracy" about the arrest, trial and eventual hanging of Mary Sarratt is coming to theaters soon. I can't wait.
