Fort Donelson was the capture of an advanced outpost (and a lot of men) rather than an entire army.

Nashville may have been the coup de grace for the CS Army of Tennessee, but the army was not destroyed there any more than it was at Franklin or Chattanooga. Fort Donelson was the capture of an advanced outpost (and a lot of men) rather than an entire army. HankC
