And just to make sure no viewer fails to get the message, the network is even adding special Civil War-themed episodes of series such as "Pawn Stars" and "American Pickers." I could care less. History Channel is no longer History Channel, and these two are two shows that pretty much prove that. History International has basically become what was once History Channel. More apt to get shows on the Civil War on History International now it seems than on History Channel. Need to get rid of American Pickers, Pawn Stars, Ice Road Truckers, and a whole slew of others and return History Channel to what it once was. And loose the slogan of "History Made Every Day." I don't disagree that history is made everyday. Heck, already as I type what I typed seconds before is in the past. But History Channel was not supposed to be about whats going on today or into the future (Life After Humans anyone?), it was supposed to be about the past. I'd be more accepting of American Pickers and Pawn Stars if they spent much more time actually discussing the history of items their exhibiting on the show, but for my taste they don't.
