In my opinion, psychological dispositions of historical figures are the mark of a lazy historian. Mental disorders have very specific clinical definitions and are usually hard to diagnose in living people even by trained psychologists. As you folks have ably pointed out, there are a number of reasons short of mental illness that can explain Hood's aggressive conduct. Mark
