When I was about ten years old my dad had an old record of a bluegrass band by the name of Reno and Smiley. On this record were several songs about the war between the states. Such as Shiloh, Antietam and the battle of Atlanta. The battle of Atlanta really influenced me to start studying the war. In this song it tells a story as the music is in the back ground. I would credit this song as the first thing to get me interested in the war and the people of that war. I was just wondering if anybody else out there was influenced by music to start their study or interest in the war? It does not have to be bluegrass it can be any form of music. Bluegrass is just my favorite. Or if you have been influenced since you began studying the war. If you have been influenced or are being influenced by music I would like to hear who they are.

Thank you, Pender
