Thanks for the reply Mark, I just have trouble understanding that way of thinking. How could they of thought that way, and keep the south in bondage? "but the actions of the southern states might prove that there could be no road to greatness at all for Democracy" This is what I mean Mark, All the emphasis is put on the south. Does this mean Democracy depends on the south, worldwide and American? Please forgive all these questions, but I am trying to understand your thinking on this subject and the thinking of Union men of the time.
