The book I'm currently reading is "The Right Hand of Command: Use and Disuse of Personal Staffs in the Civil War".  Sound like a fairly boring title, but it actually a very interesting read.  It covers four generals (McClellan, Lee, Grand, and Sherman) and how they used, or failed to use their Personal Staff Officers in the conduct of their campaigns.

The book was written by R. Steven Jones and it actually start out as his doctoral dissertation.
