I think Gilpin's book may have been the inspiration for the series. I had started to read the book as research for an upcoming project, but I got detoured onto a different project so I didn't get to finish it. However, the "good death" philosophy you mention is talked about in the documentary, too.
As for my book, yes, it is available on Amazon, B&N and other places.
Great. I'm going to order it. Can you elaborate on what it is about a little more? I'm sure there are others who are interested also. (you're book I mean)
