Val Verde is mostly on private land....unfortunately. Fort Craig is about as close as you get. Glorietta pass is definitely worth the trip. Fort Union is really cool as well. This is a great time of year to see them btw. Most of the Rattle snakes should be holed up by now. Pecos national park visitors center handles GP as well.
