Were at Picacho Peak State Park. (about midway between Tucson and Phoenix on I-10).
There was a skirmish here in 1862. Three Union Soldiers were killed, three more were wounded and three Confederates were captured. It's about as far west as the Civil War got.
This Howitzer is a big thing for our little memorial, I hope to add another monument and some interp signage along a handicap approved memorial walkway over the next few years. (but it all depends on budget)
