Grant was the greatest commander in the war. He had it all. He understood that it was a political war and he gave great consideration to his boss Mr. Lincoln in this rerspect. He was not afraid of the enemy, even when he could not see him. He was not afraid to fight. He learned by trial and error. He was not afraid to try new things.
