They do say "It's like a whole 'nother country".

I would agree that Arkansas is more "Southern".  My family moved there from Alabama in the late 1860's, right after the War (they'd lost everything, and moved west to start over).  People are friendly enough in this part of Texas, but lack the type of Southern Courtesy that I was raised with.  The men wear their hats inside, for instance.  In Arkansas, someone would eventually say, "You gonna wear that in here ?"

Of course, like everywhere in the South, there is a Second Yankee Invasion underway.  Or maybe the Third or Fourth.  I'm not sure who these "Ar-Kansans" are.  My Pap-paw was an Arkansawyer.  Pulled catfish out of the Saline River with a cane pole.  Shot squirells for dinner, not sport. Could smell a buck before the buck smelled him.  And so on...
