An interesting photo is of McC with the other Mac shortly after Antietam. As always Ole, I agree, Grant would have been tenacious irregardless of whether or not McC was there. Still Grant couldn't stand him and had to be thinking of him in his rear throughout this time. Politics is Politics. Doc C
