JS, I would have been thrilled to receive such a long, detailed, and loving letter. He obviously was a man of education, sensitive to the beauties of nature and the sufferings of the civilian victims. Evidently a man of some means, as he seemed to be in the middle of land deals and other small enterprises. Thanks for posting. Patty
