 You are so right Johan, a hero and a romantic!  What girl could resist that!  Never thought I'd be speaking about romance on a CW site!  No Gone With the Wind sappy sorta stuff.  This was the real thing.  I like it! :D

Your letter reminds me that I would NOT have wanted the job of a paymaster.  Talk about the constant feel to look over your shoulder.  Their jobs were definately scary.  All eyes were on them when the pay was late too!  I've read many letters about the soldier waiting for his pay.
