Friends:

The revelant controversy today is the NCAA's decision to ban Division I teams from post-seasons tournaments if the school "allows the display of controversial symbols" (ie St Andrew's Cross) by the "students".  This applies only to Ole Miss & Mississippi State, who implement the Battle Flag in several University-approved logos.  Not that Ole Miss or State would ever make post-season play, I suppose it's still the principal.  This decision came down about the same time as the "Indian-name" ban, but did not receive the same attention.  Needless to say, the national leadership of the Sons of Confederate Veterans are up-in-arms.  Anyone interested, see their site, scv.org.
