Doc: Europeans are definately involved in re-enacting. Several years ago, on a trip to Britain, I watched an international team re-enact the sacking of Lindisfarne Island, with dressed-out Vikings landing in long boats and fleeing monks. I've seen newspaper reports of re-enactments all over Europe, and Japan. And I can't say for certain, but I believe that somewhere I read of a Central African tribe that "re-enacts" an extemely ancient battle, the tale being a handed down oral tradition. This had something to do with manhood rites, and honoring the tribe's ancestors. yr obt svt, JDC Duncan
