You make a good case if you were "selling" that to an Average Joe, who knows nothing about the war, but how many civil war historians would rank Mansfield right up there with the other well known battlefields as far as importance?

I think that last sentence about being jaded speaks volumes.

I may enjoy reading and visiting eastern theatre battlefields more than western, but the 1st two major Civil War trips were all to western theatre battlefields, including Chattanooga/Chickamauga, Stones River, Kennesaw Mt., Perryville, Vicksburg, Shiloh, Ft. Donelson, and even places like Brices Crossroads and Parkers Crossroads.

It probably doesn't help that the CWPT headquarters is in Maryland.
