I wonder how many times different preservation organizations have stepped on each other's toes. Say that one group wants to broker a deal with a developer and agrees to let them build on a certain amount of land in return for the preservation of the rest, whereas another group thinks they can do even better. I guess it depends on who gets to the bargaining table first, but I've noticed that the CWPT often works with other preservation groups, or at least supports them.
