   I have my doubts that Jesse James was ever in Adair, Oklahoma. I do know that the James-Younger gang derailed and robbed a train of $3000. southwest of Adair, IOWA on July 21, 1873. Adair, Iowa was a newly incorporated town named after General John Adair (He served in the War of 1812 and was also governor of Kentucky).

   As for Adair Oklahoma and the Dalton gang- in July of 1892, they robbed a train and a train station there. But they might have never robbed a bank there. (By then, Jesse James had been dead for ten years).

   Perhaps, as with Jesse James, more bank and train robberies were attributed to them than they actually committed.
