I'm guessing it is the move of the capital from Philly to DC.
BTW, I listened to an intersting report on the way to work this morning that two independent researchers say that since about the time of that test each generation's IQ has increased three points so the posting of this was timely. I guess IQ doesn't always track smarts but today's kids are inundated with information I could only have dreamed of and wish I had, so I'm thinking that is where the smarts are coming from in those studies.
