It's halfway across the state. Shiloh is much closer and easiter to get to from Memphis. Parker's Crossroads is a ways down the interstate *40 that is , but you could visit there and be back to Memphis easy enough. It is nicely laid out . Not a major field but they have done a nice job with signage and driving tour. Brice's Crossing is also close in Mississippi . They have a really well done video in the visitors center narrated by Shelby Foote . The battlefield again is small but interesting . Holly Springs is also close by. They have the Marshall county historical museum which has some interesting items. Holly Springs changed hands back and forth many times.
