 As a fairly newlywed...39 years to my first wife...
let me say that during our childrearing years, my focus and money was on raisiing our family and putting bread on the table. Now, like Doc, my family is grown and my business is somewhat stable, I have time for my passions...fishing, battlefield trips and CW history, good cigars, and good bourbon. My boss, cares for none of those things, but supports my decisions to be involved. In turn, I support her decisions to be involved in her activities.
