ijontchy: Universal Studios in Orland had an exhibition of Alfred Hitchcock movies for a copuple of years when it first opened showing how he made the movies. One part of it showed how they filmed the shower scene in Psycho. In part of it they showed it without the music and it certainly wasn't as powerful a scene without the score. As to Spielberg banging you over the head in all his movies, wheter it is with music or cheap emotional devices I have to agree with you. As to music not having a place in movies, I have to disagree.
