Mostlty agree, Johan, but all the generals deserve some credit for the actions of their troops. They controlled the colonels who controlled the regiments. I wouldn't say how much credit they should get, but the goals of the commander ought to trickle down to the private. Would that collection of western boys be the "Iron Brigade" without Gibbon? Or those Virginia boys bear the name "Stonewall Brigade" so proudly? ole
