My preservation "ideology" goes beyond the battlefields. Although they'd be my first priority, I'm against reckless sprawl period, especially in places where I live and places that I might visit.

You mention some convention center, a tower, other developments. I'm fairly new to this whole preservation thing. The tower was made in the 70's. I'd be against it then as I'd be against it now.

Does this housing development and convention center have the same impact as this casino would have? I really don't know. I trust the CWPT enough that if they say this casino is bad, than in my mind, it's bad.

It sounds like some of you are stuck on this "local issue" idea. I can understand that I suppose, but if it's really a local issue, then "we" outsiders shouldn't have any say, correct? If we DO have any kind of a say, then I guess it's not really JUST a local issue. I'll do whatever little part I can do to see that this casino does NOT come to fruition, within whatever rules are set.

BTW, the poll I saw said that 65% of the "locals" are against it. If it's truly a local issue, it sounds like the people have spoken.

Just to be clear, I'm not some "Let's save every single piece of land that Traveler galloped on" person, but too much has already been lost, a lot of it before any of us had a chance to do something about it.
