|I would not refuse...most people would not, and in the instance the DG just described in which a student stabbed the cop, he has a perfect right to defend himself up to and including the use of deadly force.
Lets change the scene. Instead of a school, suppose I am walking down the street in Illinois with a "fanny pack" on. A cop approaches me and demands that I open the pack so he can inspect it. Fanny packs are used in IL to transport weapons legally altho in several cities the police do not respect this right. If I refuse that order that I believe to be an illegal search, does he have the right to taze me and possibly cause my death?
