I wonder if we grew up in the same household?
That is precicely the way it was in my grandmother's home.. also a delightful southern lady in every sense of the word.
I grew up in North Alabama, she in south Alabama..one could make the case that they were two seperate states. Most definately two seperate eras..

PS, now most of the other euphenisims for the CW are said, I believe, tounge firmly in cheek... because it continues to get a rise outta yankees who are generally awfully smug in their certain righteouness (SP! Thanks Gen Jackson!)
