Green apples and corn would remedy the constipation problem. A reporter noted that after the Battle of Antietam that he could tell where the confederate lines of infantry were because of their excrement. Doc C

Doc, I read Gettysburg first and now I'm hooked on Sears. I also have his Chancellorsville book on order at the moment. I like the way he combines the on the ground tactical situation with the big picture. This is important for me beng a beginner. I read Foote's triology to get a good grounding on the subject now I'm interested in reading up on the various campaigns and battles.
