Susan- If you are looking for a full scale bio of Hiram Granbury, I don't know of one. If a shorter bio will do, then the HANDBOOK OF TEXAS ONLINE is a good source for anyone having anything to do with Texas. Handbook of Texas Online: Here is a short bio from the Granbury Chapter of the UDC. GENERAL HIRAM BRINSON GRANBURY If you're interested in his genealogy: Tom Holder, Family History, Hiram B. Granbury The Granbury- Gregg Connection: 7th Texas Generals Gregg and Granbury The sad fate of Fanny: The Search For Fannie Sims Granbury Perhaps you'd like to visit Granbury: Granbury a town with history and charm on the Lake in the Brazos River, Texas on 1st Traveler's Choice: Lodging Directory of ... And of course, his tombstone. The original had the name spelled wrong ("Granberry"). You can see it by accessing all of his pictures: Hiram B. Granbury (1831 - 1864) - Find A Grave Memorial

Defender thanks for the information. I was hoping there was a book. I love the Texas history on line. I use it quite often for Trivia answers. My great great grandfather is listed I believe . Fletcher Davis. Uncle Fletcher was a newspaper owner and editor in Honod Texas for many many years. His daughter still lives in his home in Hondo. She is in her 90's now. Hmm seems that is now two of the Generals who died at Franklin buried with mispelled names. States' Rights Gist named is mispelled also.

There is a bio of Granbury. It is entitled Lone Star General and was written by Rebecca Drake and Thomas Holder.
