Just finished Frantz's Culp's Hill/Cemetery Hill for my studies. Ran accross a passage regarding one of my ancestors, Cpt. Jesses Jones (60th NY) who describes the building of defenses on the large Culp's Hill. However, the most interesting passage comes later in the book in which he describes wearing 2 breast plates and being hit by a minie ball. I knew that breast plates were occasionally worn but didn't realize it was by an ancestor. Would be interested in any other out of the ordinary accoutrements worn by cw soldiers. Doc C

Just drove by there today on my way back home from work in Cumberland. Hope the weather holds up, tomorrow looks rather dicey. Doc C
