Hi I'm new here.:) If I've posted on the wrong place or made another mistake I apologize. I was wondering if anyone knows anything about a newsletter called "Cump and Company:A Nesletter for Friends and Fanciers of General William T. Sherman". I ran across a refrerence to it in Lee Kennett's book "Sherman: A Soldier's Life". The book was published in 2001 and I can't find any reference to it on the Internet. I was thinking of subscribing to it.  Thanks for any help.

Welcome Kent -

Only entry I can find that may be related:

From MSU site - "Dr. John Marszalek, history, presented a paper on Civil War Gen. William T. Sherman entitled "Cump and Company" at the Society of Civil War Historians meeting in Little Rock, Ark. In addition, his article, "The Eaton Affair: Society and Politics," was published in the Tennessee Historical Quarterly."

Hi I sent Michael a private message about this. But I may as well post it on the board as well. For information on the Cump and Company newsletter You can e-mail Doris Walker at dwalker214@yahoo.com or contact Doris McCann by snail mail at Doris McCann 218 Station Street, McDonald, PA 15057. Mrs. McCann can also be reached at 1-724-926-2262. This is both her fax AND phone number. She doesn't have an e-mail that I know of. The newsletter comes out 6 times a year and a subscription is $20US I got a two year one for $35 but this might have been a special arrrangement, so you may have to ask about it.  I hope this is helpfull.
