I go to Gettysburg at least once a week. I love living so close, though starting Friday I won't be able to go for a couple months. College and all that.

well i have never been any father north than Roanoak Virginia. i guess ill get to Gburg one day but ill probably be living on my own when i do.....im the only one in my family that likes anything historical and they really dont like being on long trips trips with me for two reasons.
1) i make em stop at every historical marker on the side of the road and am constantly tellin em historical stuff that they dont wanna hear til they tell me to shut up.
and 2) whenever we go on vacation they know im gonna have to go somewhere of historical importance and a drive from here to Gburg might just kill em.

I feel your pain on that one Dixie.  Sometimes getting to go to historical sites can be like pulling teeth.  Whenever I go anywhere, whoever I am with just rolls there eyes and says ok what historical site/ marker are we going to have to see.. but thats their problem  :)
