I was wondering if I could get your opinion? I am always looking for ways to improve my web site. The Gettsburg section, of my site has over 250 photos. The way I have them indexed, up until now, required that you surf through each picture. I realize that some people may not be interested in seeing Warfield Ridge, but may be very interested in seeing Houck's Ridge. The most logical option seemed to be an index. Over the past week, I have created this index.
My request, would be that you test drive the new index, look through some of the pictures, and let me know if you find any errors. Any thoughts on improving the user experience would be highly appreciated. If the concensus is that the index provides a good user experience, I will add it to my other large collections: Shiloh, Chickamauga, etc.
Great new index. It was fun to just choose battlefield sites at random and then click on the pictures to make them big. The photos are great no matter how they are arranged, but this index is, in fact, very helpful, especially if one is reading about a particular part of the battle and wants to get a quick idea of how it looks today.
I liked having the monuments organized in a separate index too and a separate index for statues of Gettysburg luminaries such as Longstreet and Sickles, just to name two.
You have a really helpful web site that I enjoy very much. It must have taken hours and hours of effort to arrange all the photos you have taken and create the web site.
