On a recent visit in Maryland went to Fox's Gap, not much there but worth side trip from Antietam. Also went to Monocacy' NPS has done a good job there. Drove down to Point Lookout, nothing there but a road side marker but worth the trip, can get a feel for what it must have been like to be held prisoner there. I spent a day at the Library of Congress going through Microfilm of The National Tribune (the GAR organ) only got through 2 reels but a lot of interesting stuff if you have the time.
