Have an ancestor, Lucien H. Spencer, who served in the 5th Michigan Cav. He was captured at Trevillion Station and a pow at Andersonville and later Millen. While looking into the Andersonville pow list on the nps soldier/sailor website I noticed a caption to "see Oscar C. Wood's diary". Have googled this but come up empty. Any thoughts as to Oscar C. Wood's diary?
Thanks PC, I should have looked at the regiments roster. Undoubtably he has a diary out there somewhere. So begins my quest. Lucien Spencer had a brother in the 1st Mich Cav, William, who was a pow at the 2nd Manassas, then later wounded at Five Forks where he had his right arm amputated. I'm currently compiling a list of all my ancestors who were captured/pow, wounded, kia. As you can problably surmise, I like lists. People haven't asked that question for a while, wish I did have something to tell them, in regards to what's up.
