If John Brown didn't exist and the raid on Harper's Ferry never happened on those days in Oct. of 1859 what would the Civil War have been like? Would the Confederacy not have been as prepared with weaponry as it was or would the war have even started in 1861 without John Brown.

I figure the only affect he had was maybe to speed up secession a little.
