I am selling my mansfield and lamb civil war calv. saber in exclent condtion. I was going to ask 650$ for it, is this fair for both buyer and seller? of do they go for more or less? The photo is of the sword, the scabbord is of equal quality, with only the ding to quiet rattling. dated 65 with inspectors marks clear. Attachment: DSCN0296.JPG (Downloaded 22 times)

Don't know the value of that piece by that maker, but I do suggest that you check around to make sure of the price -- rare marks might be more valuable than your $650, especially if you can provide provenance that was made before the war ended and that it was issued to a trooper. Let me know if ever the price drops to $100. Ole

In my opinion, $650 should be a reasonable price. In fact, Saturday I looked at a Mansfield and Lamb saber in rougher condition than yours that had a sticker price of $675.
