The City of Fort Wright, Kentucky is pleased to announce that the Fifth Annual “Battery Hooper Days” will be held on Saturday and Sunday, August 22 and 23, at Battery Hooper Park on Highland Avenue, in Fort Wright, Kentucky! Battery Hooper Days is sponsored by the City of Fort Wright and the James A. Ramage Civil War Museum Board.

 

Scheduled events include a Civil War encampment of Union and Confederate soldiers; living history reenactors Abraham Lincoln and General Lew Wallace who will perform and interact with visitors; musical entertainment by Ruckus on Saturday; local author Don Heinrich Tolzmann who wrote John A. Roebling and his Suspension Bridge on the Ohio River; Civil War poet Todd Coleman; several local historical groups; a Civil War fashion show on Sunday; the Sunrock Farm petting zoo both days; plus face painting and other children’s games. There will be ongoing tours of the James A. Ramage Civil War Museum and archaeological demonstrations at Battery Hooper, a Civil War era defensive fortification.

 

The public will be able to purchase food, drinks, and home made ice cream le at the Community of Faith Presbyterian Church. The museum will operate a Civil War gift shop and book sale each day.

 

The James A. Ramage Civil War Museum is located at 1402 Highland Avenue and parking will be at the Community of Faith Presbyterian Church that is located next door.

 

Admission is FREE to the general public.

Thanks for posting Capt. We will put it on the calander. I will try to come during the dig also. We live about 60 miles north on I 71. Will try to bring the grand kids.
