To paraphrase Union Brigadier General Samuel Sturgis, "I don't care for George Armstrong Custer one pinch of owl dung!"

Custer was an brash glory-seeker, vain to a fault (velvet, custom-made uniforms, indeed!), ungentlemanly, and egomaniacal. All I can say is, "He got what he deserved."

I take it from your kindly words on Custer that by "He got what he deserved" you mean his Brigadiers Star..........

Custer was an over achiever when it came to the U.S. genocidal policy towards native Americans.....just ask Black Kettle.
