Joe forgive me for putting this here but I wanted to make sure everyone saw this . We have this evening lost a member of our Civil War group. Jana Beaverson, known in here as Marie lost her struggle with Cancer tonight. Her father just called me and asked me to let her Civil War Friends know. Her father and sister were with her when she passed away tonight. Jana was planning her own funeral and had not finished all the details yet so the date and time of the service is not known as this time. The family is going to finish planning with her wishes kept in mind. Jana or Marie will be truely missed by those that knew her. She never met a stately house she didn't want to tour. Knowing her she is now sitting around with the Andrews Raiders getting the real story of the raid . After all they were Ohio boys. Jan you will be missed. Susan Sweet

Oh Susan, that breaks my heart. Laurie will be upset as well when I tell her. We both enjoyed hanging with Jana at the last muster we attended. She was also a long-time trivia player. I had no idea she was struggling with cancer. Our thought will be with her family. She will be missed.

She loved that visit with you and Laurie. She talked about how she and Laurie connected that night . That she was like a long lost sister. She discovered the cancer last spring. Small Cell Carcenoma . She went though chemo and as soon as she finished the chemo the tumors came back more agressive than before. You are right she will be missed.

I am so sorry. I never met her, and talked to her on the phone only once, but I well remember that phone call for the laughter and fun in her voice. I was going to meet all of you but my surgery prevented it. We are losing too many good people to that damned disease. Ed

I attended the funeral this morning along with Bluelady and LincolnFan. it was very moving. Pretty much the whole town was there. Her love of history with partiular interest in the Civil War was highlighted in the music, the decorations, and the message. Her grave marker will have the Jackson quote, "Let us cross over the river and rest in the shade of the trees" Babs

My deepest regrets and sympathies in the loss of Marie. I didn't have the pleasure of knowing her and wish I had.
