We posted a story on this this morning. See http://civilwarinteractive.com/Newswire/?p=11514 . Looks like it could be interesting, but alas no HBO here.

I hope that article is lark and not serious......While I am not a NASCAR fan (nor do I follow any other sport) I think having a cast of NASCAR drivers (or any other atheletes) will take away from the integrity of the movie, unless, of course, the movie is to spoof the Confedracy, in which case the cast of HeeHaw and the Dukes of Hazard might be more appropriate. I can imagine the jokes David Lettermern, Jay Leno and Conan O'Brian will make about that!!

Wow! Other than the fact that NONE of the cast remotely resembles their characters it looks promising...but I will reserve judgment until I see the finished product.

They won't need to unpack the Gettysburg beards.....I'm sure there's plenty of dead possums along the road that the NASCAR cast could bring with'em!!!

Last year, I found a possum laid-out in our front yard.....figured he'd get up in a while and move on......After the third day, i flipped him in a ditch across the road!!.....I know they're good at "playin'", but they're not THAT good!!......

I hate to burst everyone's bubble, but this series has NOT been greenlighted by HBO -- yet.

In checking this out (hoping I could get a gig as a makeup artist on it) I found out that the cast has NOT been set, it is only a "wish list" by the producers.

As of now, HBO hasn't even given approval for the project....so NOTHING is even in pre-production.

Looking at the cast .....half of the people on the want list don't even look like a fit.

Well will be happy to have anything new on the War Between the States..... Wearing out my Gods N Generals Blu ray:D
