Well, tommorrow I go into the hospital, but I wanted something good to read on the laptop while I'm there. So...what did everyone get for Christmas. Since I'm being nosy, I'll start. I wanted kitchen gadgets, so I'm happy:

Javal, Civ V will keep you occupied while you are laid up! I just got it last month and it is a great game. I've played all of them starting with the original! But as to your question... I asked for books and I got lots of them! My favorites are "Manifest Destinies" by Steven Woodworth, "The Federalist/Anti-Federalist Papers," "Democracy in America," and "The Civil War of 1812" by Alan Taylor. Those should keep me occupied for the next few months. Hope you are back on your feet soon! -Mark

I got "Lee and His High Command" lecture series by Gary Gallagher from The Teaching Company. Just watched the first one today--kind of basic, but then again, anything CW is good, in my book! Should be more indepth later on when he talks about individual commanders. Otherwise, I got a bunch of gift cards, some wine, and a tablecloth made in France (Provence), some jewelry, and chocolate from Switzerland. I also managed to get everything done that I had to get done, and done well and without major glitches, so that's a gift, in itself! Now I can just chill until school starts up again on January 3! Stephen King, international cheeses and exotic bacon. . . there's a connection there, somewhere, Joe!
