DO NOT be fooled by the hoax George Eastman House is playing this April Fool's day! They claim they found a 3-minute reel of soldiers from 1861-62. It is all a hoax in honor of April Fool's day. FYI: motion picture film was not developed until the early 1890s by Edison.

Not saying there's not some hoax, but there is a real exhibit going on there which we ran March 16th. Part of the text says " The museum’s unparalleled collection of 19th-century photography is showcased as iconic photographs hang alongside rare and never-before-seen images, in addition to contemporary images of Civil War sites and re-enactments and a look at how motion pictures have fictitiously depicted the war. The exhibitions are on view through June 12, 2011." http://bluegraydaily.com/?p=442
