I have a relative who was in the 10th NY Cavalry and captured at Unionville, VA in July of 1863. Do you know of any battle that occurred here. I have information about the 10th NY and they were way north of Unionville during the month of July in 1863. I know that the relative was a scout - but wondered if anyone knows why he may have been in Unionville at that time.

General Lee had his army close by at Orange.
